Overview
The Bridge Research and
Information Center was established in 1998 and is headquartered at the Department
of Civil Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The center is
principally sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF)
Mission
The mission of BRIC is
to develop an online information facility for the bridge engineering community
from around the world with the following main features:
- Information about
Up-to-date research activities, achievements, and publications in the field
of bridge engineering that were performed by the Department of Civil Engineering,
at UNR (including abstracts, photos, and video clips).
- Information about experimental
facilities at the structures laboratory at UNR and a detailed invenventory
of lab equipement including specifications, models, and photos.
- Developed test protocols
on selected experimental tests to be followed by other researchers performing
similar tests and be to used for exchange of information including test
results
- Information about other
nationwide centers' most recent publications and research activities by
providing links to their published databases.
