- Abstract:
- A continuum based analytical solution based on the Fourier expansion of the applied load
is presented to study the behavior of horizontally layered medium under moving loads. The
layers can be linear or nonlinear, and both finite and infinite thicknesses can be
considered. The effects of inertia and the damping of the medium are also taken into
account. The applied load can be any shape. The layers can be either dry or saturated. The
water table can be located at any location desired. An extensive description of the
theoretical formulation of the problem above is presented in Section 6 (Abstract by
authors).
